Touro University California
Established in 1997, Touro University California offers graduate degrees in osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, physician assistant studies, nursing, public health and education. The mission of Touro University is to educate caring professionals to serve, to lead and to teach. Students from diverse backgrounds are recruited nationally to create a dynamic, robust learning environment.
The DREAM Team is part of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Touro University California. The acronym “DREAM” stands for Diabetes Research Education And Management. This team is established in 2015 and is led by Diabetes Program Director, Dr. Jay Shubrook. The DREAM team strives to find answers by conducting cutting-edge Diabetes-related research projects, providing team-based clinical care to patients with Diabetes, educating healthcare professionals and candidates on the most up-to-date Diabetes treatment best practices, and offering screening and educational programs in the community to raise Prediabetes and Diabetes awareness. Community programs include the Mobile Diabetes Education Center (MOBEC), the National Diabetes Prevention Program (National DPP), and the Diabetes Education Empowerment Program (DEEP). The DREAM team at Touro University California is a CDC-recognized National Diabetes Prevention Program Coach Training site.
